Upgraded Ramen Noodles

Upgraded Ramen Noodles

Simple method to make much better ramen...and avoid that chemical packet.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups mushroom broth (from mushroom stock cube) or vegetable stock
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 bouillon cube (I recommend Rapunzel brand)
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon low-sodium Tamari soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon freeze dried or fresh chives
  • 1 packet ramen noodles

Instructions

  1. Add mushroom stock cube to 1-1/2 cups of hot water, and dissolve to make mushroom broth.
  2. In saucepan, add mushroom broth, and all other ingredients except noodles.
  3. Throw away seasoning packets that came with noodles.
  4. Bring water to boil, turn off heat, add noodles, and let stand 5 minutes before stirring and eating.
  5. Feel nostalgic about days as a poor college student, while savoring something much more delicious.
